Est. 1817 City of Pawnee

Department 06

Health & Human Services

Public health programs, wellness initiatives, and the ongoing, uphill effort to move Pawnee off the podium for fourth-most-obese city in the nation.

What We Do

Public health, one uphill battle at a time

Health & Human Services runs the city's wellness programs, immunization clinics, and nutrition outreach, largely in competition with a Sweetums-brand vending machine in nearly every municipal building.

Clinics

Public Health Clinics

Free vaccinations, screenings, and basic care for uninsured residents. Walk-ins welcome; waffle bribes to skip the line are not accepted.

Outreach

Nutrition & Wellness

Community nutrition classes and wellness challenges, run in the same building where Sweetums operates two vending machines.

Advocacy

Sweetums Relations

An entire unofficial job function has emerged around politely asking the Sweetums Candy Factory to reconsider portion sizes. Progress has been slow.

Clinic Schedule

Free Flu Shots This Month

No appointment necessary. Please do not attempt to trade a flu shot for a free waffle at JJ's, this has been tried.

Wellness Program

Community Walk Series Returns

Weekly group walks through Founders' Park. Please avoid feeding the raccoons along the route, even to be polite.

Public Notice

Annual Obesity Ranking Released

Pawnee holds steady at fourth in the nation. The department remains, as ever, cautiously hopeful about next year.
