Parks & Recreation announced that registration for the fall youth basketball league opens Monday, with divisions for ages 6 through 14. Games will be played at the community center gymnasium on weeknights and Saturday mornings.
“Every kid who signs up gets a trophy,” said a department spokesperson. “We’ve found that this dramatically reduces the number of complaints we receive, regardless of what happens on the court.”
Registration fees cover a jersey, a season pass to home games, and one entry into the season-ending pizza party. Scholarships are available for families who need them; applications are handled confidentially through the front office.
Space is limited and has filled quickly in past seasons.
